Once you get past Christchurch, you begin the inland drive to Queenstown.  Running pretty much the entire length of the

South Island is the Southern Alps.  This mountain range is a truly awesome.

Scattered along the Alps are various lakes. One of these lakes is Lake Tekapo.  The water color is literally an electric blue.

In addition to it's amazing color, the water surface is highly reflective and you can see the reflection of the southern alps off

of the lake.

After a leisurely drive from Geraldine we arrived into a small town next to Queenstown called Frankton.  If you ever come here,

New Zealand's equivalent to a KOA is a Holiday park.  These Holiday parks are great little places where you can throw up a tent,

rent a little cabin or park your camper van.  BTW, the camper vans here are quite the deal.  It's basically a van that's been converted into

a little mobile home.  Most of these camper vans have Showers, toilets, and a multi burner stove with Oven and the Holiday parks

are equipped to pipe in water and electricity for these campers.
