Dunedin is the old Gaelic word for Edinburgh.  Dunedin has a strong Scottish history.  The town center is called

the Octagon and some beautiful buildings surrounding it.

St. Pauls Cathedral is the only Stone Vaulted Ceiling Cathedral in New Zealand.

Dunedin also has a beautiful trainstation.

finally Dunedin is also home to Yellow Eyed Penguins.  There are two species of Penguin native to New Zealand.
